Independent. Author-built. Slightly unconventional.
Fated Love Publishing is an independent publishing company built around a pretty simple idea:
Authors should be able to tell the stories they want to tell, keep ownership of their work, and get knowledgeable support without losing the things that make their books theirs.
Founded by independent author Maelana Nightingale, Fated Love began as the publishing home for her own romance and romantasy titles and has grown into something broader—an umbrella for publishing, creative projects, and author services designed with indie authors in mind.
We like complicated characters. Messy relationships. Found family. Big feelings. Strange little niche projects. Books that don’t fit neatly into a box.
And we’re not particularly interested in forcing them to.
Fated Love Publishing currently operates across three areas:
Our publishing imprints are home to original fiction developed and published under the Fated Love Publishing umbrella.
Fated Love Publishing focuses on romance, romantasy, fantasy, and other adult fiction.
Axolotl Productions is a developing middle-grade imprint for imaginative, adventurous stories for younger readers.
Indie publishing may mean doing it yourself, but it does not have to mean doing every damn part yourself.
Fated Love Publishing offers editorial, production, authenticity, and marketing support for independent authors, including developmental editing, alpha reading, proofreading, book formatting, marketing content pulls, focused manuscript critiques, and BDSM & kink authenticity reading.
The goal is never to turn your book into someone else’s.
It’s to help you make your book stronger, cleaner, more intentional, and easier to bring into the world.
Fated Love is also a future home for the projects that don’t always fit cleanly into traditional publishing boxes—collaborations, experimental ideas, special editions, and whatever other publishing-adjacent chaos makes sense next.
Whether Fated Love is publishing one of our own projects or working with an independent author through Author Services, the philosophy is the same:
The story belongs to the author.
Editorial feedback should strengthen the story the author is trying to tell—not rewrite it into the story someone else would have written.
Creative support should make publishing easier—not create unnecessary gatekeeping.
And professional help should not require an author to give up ownership of their work.
Authors who use Fated Love Publishing’s services retain 100% ownership and copyright of their manuscripts and intellectual property. Purchasing a service does not grant Fated Love Publishing distribution, adaptation, or ownership rights.
Founder & Author
Maelana Nightingale is an independent romance and romantasy author and the founder of Fated Love Publishing.
After building her own publishing career from the ground up, Maelana discovered that being an indie author means learning to do considerably more than write books. From editing and formatting to production, marketing, launches, and reader engagement, she’s spent years navigating both the creative and practical sides of bringing stories from manuscript to bookshelf.
Her books are known for complex characters, unconventional relationships, found family, immersive worlds, and stories that aren’t particularly interested in coloring inside the lines.
Fated Love Publishing grew from that same philosophy: authors should be able to tell the stories they want to tell, retain ownership of their work, and have access to knowledgeable support when they don’t want to do every damn part of publishing alone.
When she isn’t writing, publishing, or helping another author untangle a manuscript, Maelana can usually be found planning another book she absolutely does not have time to write.
Fated Love Publishing is growing deliberately.
For now, our focus is on publishing our own stories, developing our imprints, and providing practical support to independent authors.
We are not currently accepting unsolicited manuscript submissions for publication.
If that changes in the future, submission opportunities and guidelines will be announced here.
